How do I organize my own Kubb tournament? What should I pay attention to with my Kubbtrunier?

venue

Free area or hall

grass

- If possible the terrain should be flat. The lawn should be short enough so that the Kubbs are easily visible with at least half the height of the Kubbs above the grass (the shorter the better)

- Lawns that are watered 2 hours before the start of the tournament are very suitable for playing.

street

-If you play on asphalt or concrete you should think about a "slip barrier". Woods that cannot hit roll very far :)

hall

- In the sports hall, the floor is affected by the throwing wood. If you want to play in a hall, you should pay attention to concrete floor or better go to a riding hall.

sand

If you play on the beach or in the sand you should make sure that the fields between the games are raked smoothly.

snow

In the snow it is recommended to use colored corner bars or colored field lines.

Kubb space requirement

- At least 13 x 9 m should be available per Kubb field. Throwing sticks often fly much further, so there shouldn't be any glass panes, garden gnomes or the dining table near the playing field.

- Kubb fields and distance: The fields should be set up in such a way that there is at least 2 meters distance to the next field on the right and left side, so that the players can move outside the field without disturbing other games.

There should be considerably more space in the front and rear. On the one hand, the teams should have at least 1 m. On the other hand, players do not have eyes in the back of their heads and therefore cannot avoid flying / rolling throws from behind. -

WC

Access to a WC within walking distance is a must, even at a men's tournament!

Food and drink

It is nice if the organizer offers something to eat and drink (for a fee) or if there is a possibility to get something warm to eat and other drinks in the immediate vicinity.

Those who do not want to serve alcohol can easily switch to non-alcoholic beer and especially non-alcoholic beer mix drinks. Has already been tested and the atmosphere was still good! (With wine at present rather take the original with alcohol)

refuge

If you play outdoors there should be some way to shelter yourself in the rain, storm or sun.

Seating

Most players bring folding chairs or picnic blankets, if something is nice but not necessary.
