That the Vikings are said to have robbed the Kubb game in Cuba [| (see)] is probably just a myth. The word Cuba is the German spelling of (Spanish Cuba), which was probably formed from the original name of the local population, the words "coa" (place) and "bana" (large), ie rather "large square".
